*Eligible clients who obtain a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from their GP, issued under the Australian Government’s ‘Better Access to Mental Health Care’ initiative, may claim a Medicare rebate of $141.85 for up to ten sessions each calendar year.
Private Health Cover
Some private health funds offer rebates for sessions with a psychologist. Please check whether you have cover directly with your own private health insurer.
Self-referral / Private payment
A doctor’s referral is not needed to make an appointment. However, a doctor’s referral is required if you wish to claim a rebate from Medicare.
Telehealth sessions
You may choose to attend your appointment by telehealth (videoconference) rather than in person. The same rates apply to telehealth and in-person sessions (including rebates). However, telehealth sessions must be paid in full, prior to the session.
Reports
Treating psychologist reports are available at an additional cost. I am unable to provide medico-legal assessments.
Cancellation Policy
Please give 48 hours’ notice of a cancellation, if possible, to allow time to offer your appointment time to another patient.
If we receive less than 48 hours' notice and your appointment time is subsequently not able to be filled by another patient:
• A 50% fee ($122.50) will be charged for cancellation with 24 - 48 hours’ notice
• 100% fee ($245) will be charged for cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice
Please note that rebates are typically not claimable for missed sessions.
If you are unable to keep an appointment because of sudden illness or a serious, unexpected personal circumstance, please let reception know as soon as possible.
It is usually possible to reschedule or to change an in-person appointment to a telehealth consultation if this is helpful for you. If you would like to do this, please contact reception.
